Olfactive description
Intense warm, woody note. SYLVAMBER invites to a new journey through cedar and amber notes.
Perfumery usage
The exceptional tenacity of this foundation brings elegance and sophistication to any composition.
Upcycling description
dsm-firmenich uses the upcycled Turpentine extracted from the paper industry, often those that use softwood to manufacture cardboard. Derived originally from softwoods, this turpentine is valorized through a fractionation process in which we retrieve alpha and beta pinene, the two main molecules obtained from fractionated turpentine.
Process
Chemical synthesis corresponds to the construction of complex chemical compounds from simpler ones. Our R&D follows the principles of Green chemistry whenever possible.
History
To offer alternatives to natural wood resources, dsm-firmenich scientists developed a range of more affordable, sustainable offerings. The first woody molecule introduced was Z11™ in 1961, then came POLYSANTOL®, the first sandalwood molecule in 1985.
