Upcycling description

dsm-firmenich valorizes existing marine biomass by optimally and sustainably utilizing side-streams of raw materials. These by-products include the meat around the bones and the shells, for example, which carry the most authentic flavor.

We convert these side streams, previously returned to the sea by fishermen, through a dehydration process and create seafood powders such as codfish, whitefish, shrimp, lobster, crab, and other popular seafood tonalities.

Process

Marine biomass is transformed into a dehydrated fine powder through a heating, drying and milling process.
