At Firmenich we operate an “Inclusive Capitalism” business model, growing our business while creating long-term value for all our stakeholders.
Protecting nature, ensuring the safety of the communities we operate in, and respecting human rights sit together at the core of our business strategy. To reinforce our capacity to address human rights risks with our suppliers, our strategy is based on two axes: raising awareness with, and training, the entire procurement community on human rights, including on the UN Human Rights Guiding Principles for Business; and ensuring that concrete action is taken in our supply chains to deal with human rights-related challenges.
Creating sustainable value is also about driving a responsible and transparent supply chain everywhere.
We have strengthened internal governance around Responsible Procurement. This includes human rights-related strategy to create an effective escalation and management process and deliver action and results.
As part of our sustainability journey, we invest in impactful and innovative approaches to supplier diversity.
In FY2022, Firmenich has focused its efforts on collective action:
A supplier diversity program for women-owned businesses and ethnic minority-owned businesses
Partnerships with European companies employing differently-abled people
Our Inclusive Sensory Panels program, which hires blind and visually impaired professionals through external agencies
Partnerships with women-owned businesses that are actively involved in economically empowering local women
We care for every person touched in any way by our business, from farmers to consumers. Caring about people starts by ensuring their fundamental human rights.
