Turkey

Today, Turkey is the largest producers of rose oil in the world, producing in total 10 tons per year. dsm-firmenich sources Rose Damascena from a family owned company with a history going back as early as 1950 when they started the cultivation of Rose Damascena in Senir, near the lake of Burdur. The successful growing area today is around the city of Isparta, north of Antalya, where dozens of villages have been growing roses. Turkey is processing more the concrete and absolute. The Roses grow at different altitudes, from 600 to 1300 meters. Differing pickings and bloomings allow factories to manage their capacities.
Different farming models are existing today in the region: 60% of roses are coming from family farming models and 40% from bogger farms.
Rose activities are impacting close to 50,000 people in the region, from farmers, pickers, collectors to distillers.
The average mix in Turkey between rose and concrete is the following: around 2MT of oil and 5MT of concrete.
